Overview

A peaceful and tranquil place for a relaxing holiday

Brown Rigg is set in a peaceful and tranquil rural location and is ideal for a relaxing self-catering holiday. In the daytime you can listen to the “dring” of a woodpecker; the sound of the pheasant beating its wings and the bleating of the sheep from the neighbouring fields. You may also be lucky enough to spot barn owls hunting and the occasional glimpse of deer in the woods at dusk.

The four lodges are spacious and comfortable. Each lodge has three bedrooms sleeping up to six people per lodge. The rear of the lodges all have open views of the stunning countryside that surrounds Brown Rigg. You`ll also see our three elderly resident horses grazing. The kitchen in Pennine also overlooks Ealingham Fell where Buzzards are often seen circling in the sky.

At the end of the lodges is a drying room which houses a washing machine and drying racks, perfect for those muddy boots and coats. Outside, there is a barbecue area, a large tarmac courtyard for playing swing ball and basketball and it`s also ideal for children's cycling. If you can summon the energy there is a private games field where you can play football and cricket. There are also wooden benches and tables outside the lodges.
